After years of attentively watching the breed, we went into the world of “owned by a Boerboel” and fell in love. We’ve been hobby breeders for 34 years, but we were instantly sucked into a Boerboel passion after getting our first puppy. We’ve had a lot of dogs throughout the years, but none compare to the Boerboel. They’re the ideal dog for us because they can quickly go from living room floor ornaments to serious family guards. Our dogs at home are gentle with youngsters and friendly with visitors, but they redefine the term “guardian.”

Our passion is genetics, and our enthusiasm for dogs is contagious. Our goal is to produce intelligent and robust puppies. As a breeder, we are a seasonal, with 95 percent of our litters arriving in the late fall and winter months. We are very concerned about breeding and placing puppies in good homes. We also do everything from progesterone testing, transcervical implants, semen storage, ultrasounds, and more here at Black Iron. All members of the Black Iron family receive lifetime breeder support, and our puppies are always welcomed into our family.
